That Moment When...

... you can actually feel your luck change.

The three Fates or Moirai of mythology - Clotho spins the thread of life onto her spindle, Lachesis measures the thread of life allotted to each person, and Atropos cuts the thread with her scissors when the person's life is over.

Yesterday and today have been two freak cold days in the middle of a warming trend. Today, not feeling particularly ambitious (as usual), I thought to myself "I'll start my work as soon as I win a game of Solitaire." This didn't happen for five games, which I lost quickly. Meanwhile, the prospect of having to go to work in a minor snowstorm was looming. 

All at once, my luck changed. My boss called me to say that we wouldn't be busy and to stay home, and immediately thereafter I won the game I had been playing! My day has just gone from cruddy to ok, and it happened in just a few short minutes! I love it when I can almost feel the strings of fate pulling me. Speaking of which, given all the signs, I guess I should start working... fortunately, I'm reinvigorated after the signs - who knows, maybe I'll find the big break in my research that I needed, or maybe the muses will help me write some brilliant prose! :)
